In Mid-December, three Casa parents joined us to teach us all about the celebration of Khushali.
We learned that Khushali is the celebration of the Ismaili Muslim's religious leader and that it is a day to come together and celebrate him with family and friends.
We even had the chance to take part in a traditional henna application, an experience that all of the children thoroughly enjoyed. While some students received their henna, others celebrated with their peers by dancing to traditional music.
Thank you so much to Shefina (Jayden's mother), Fehmida (Zakir's mother) and Shahinoor (Sarina's mother) for providing us with such a rich, wonderful experience!
I look forward to helping my students continue to learn about the world around them throughout the rest of the school year!
